To help improve the security of your valuable information, the Office of Information Technology is implementing THREE important security enhancement at Texas Southern University. The first security enhancement is now LIVE , and two more are COMING SOON .
Security Enhancement #1: Self-Service Password Reset (SSPR) is NOW LIVE!!!
Our department is making it easier than ever for you to recover your password if you ever forget it. You can now reset, unlock, or change your password without having to contact us! Register for Self-Service Password Reset (SSPR) to enable the feature.
You can complete the sign-up process using your existing credentials (username and password) that you use to login today.
Next steps
After you register, if you ever forget your password, you can reset it again yourself . You can also select “Can't access your account?” on the sign in page to reset or unlock your account from any device.

You will be required to register for SSPR upon your next login.
Security Enhancement #2: Password Format Standards
Effective June 20 th, 2023 , all Student, Faculty, and Staff passwords will be required to meet minimum password security standards. Only passwords that have not already been reset to meet the minimum password security standards will be reset as part of this action. Once you have registered for the Self-Service Password Reset tool, you will then use the Self-Service Password Reset tool to reset your password moving forward.
Password Security Standards:
Minimum of EIGHT characters
At least ONE lower case letter (a, b, c, d,…)
At least ONE upper case character (A, B, C, D,…)
At least ONE number (0,1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9)
At least ONE special character (>~!@#$%^&*_-+=`|\\(){}\[\]:;"'<>,.?/)
